Playing with Fake Lashes

Recently I bought a box of lashes and I decided I wanted to experiment with it.
It did not go well at all. I watched a bunch of YT videos but i just couldn't figure the glue out, the sides keep sticking up. Am I missing something?

Anyways I took some pics that looked somewhat reasonable.

Look at those fanned out lashes. And take a look at my other eye. The lash is just falling off!
